Visas are issued in diplomatic missions and consular posts of the Republic of Lithuania.
In case there is no Lithuanian diplomatic missiom or consular post in your country, please apply through the nearest or most convenient one for youto travel to.
Under special circumstances, a single-entry short-stay visa valid for up to 15 days and a single-entry transit visa valid for up to five days may be issued at a border control post.
Groups of sailors of 5 to 50 individuals may be issued a single-entry group transit visa.
Border control posts may issue a visa if a foreign national:
-
was unable to lodge an application for a visa with visa services abroad in advance due to objective reasons;
-
is able to provide documents substantiating unforeseen and urgent reasons to enter the Republic of Lithuania;
-
meets the requirements for admission of aliens into the Republic of Lithuania laid down in paragraphs 1 and 3-5 of Article 7 of the Law on the Legal Status of Aliens:

has a valid travel document;
-
has documents specifying the purpose and conditions of entry into the Republic of Lithuania, the available means of subsistence to maintain himself during his stay in the Republic of Lithuania or a lawful source thereof, the available means for returning to his country of origin or for travelling in transit to another state via the territory of the Republic of Lithuania as well as documents substantiating of health insurance coverage, and can produce them on request;

the applicant is not on the list of unwanted aliens to enter in to the Republic of Lithuania;
-
the alien’s stay in the Republic of Lithuania does not pose a threat to public security, order or health.
Visas at border control posts may be issued if a written request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania or the Migration Department has been submitted to the State Border Guard Service.
A foreign national applying for a visa at a border control post must submit the following documents:

a completed application in the prescribed form;

a valid travel document (its validity term must exceed the validity term of the requested visa by at least three months);

documents substantiating valid health insurance coverage;
-
documents substantiating the right to return to the country of origin or the country of nationality or the country in which the alien is a permanent resident, or the right to enter a third country;
-
a power of attorney certified by a notary public or in an equivalent manner when the application for a visa is lodged by an authorised representative on behalf of a foreign national;
-
documents substantiating unforeseen and urgent reasons to enter the Republic of Lithuania.
Group visas are issued in diplomatic missions and consular posts of the Republic of Lithuania abroad.
